Threadworm. As a matter of hygiene, that we at Moulton School take very seriously, please encourage your child to wash their hands thoroughly after going to the toilet. We have had a few cases of threadworm in the school recently. If your child is suffering from this unpleasant condition there is no need for him/her to be kept at home. For information about treatment please see the following link to nhs direct - http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles/article.aspx?articleId=362
Statutory guidance confirms that it is the responsibility of parents to administer medicines. Very few courses of medication are likely to be required to be taken during school hours. Doctors will normally prescribe medication that can be administered out of school hours. Routine administration of medicines is therefore not the responsibility of the school or teachers. There are medications such as inhalers or emergency treatments for allergies for which special arrangements can be made in consultation with the Mr Englebright.
If your child becomes ill, they should be kept at home for 48 hours after the symptoms have ceased, to avoid the bug being passed on to others at school. This is in light of the current outbreak of this contagious infection. For further information see the Health Protection Agency website - http://www.hpa.org.uk/infections/topics_AZ/norovirus/faq.htm
In the event of school closure due to severe weather conditions:-
I shall always make a decision by about 7.00 am so that local radio stations can pass on this information in good time. We include radio station information below.
Updated school information is available by selecting 2 (school information) when dialling the school telephone number (01638 750236)
Never take the risk in severe weather conditions that the school might be open and try to get to school. Better to be safe and stay at home.
