BULK OIL ORDERING in MOULTON (BOOM)

It is interesting to see the statistics of our Moulton Bulk Oil ordering scheme as shown below, from January 2008 to the present day, which illustrates the price variations, but sadly shows that we are not really getting increased ordering support from the village. It is of course quite impossible to coordinate everyone’s requirements with the dates we set out for ordering, but out of at least 370 households, we are not getting the orders we would like to.

A great number just never use the scheme, which seems a real shame, as the twofold aim is TO SAVE YOU MONEY, and to cut down the number of lorry journeys through the village. The saving is between 3p and 5p per litre at least, but we are saving an enormous number of lorry journeys, 28 in June alone! 70 in January! And that is important to us all.

When ordering please give your name, first line of your address, Post Code, Telephone number, and if “easy access” or you need a phone call before delivery.

The statistics below show the record of Bulk ordering since November 2005 – my apologies for omitting these in our last issue. Your support is great importance to the village (much fewer lorries passing through) – and of course there are substantial savings to be made for you personally!

Tips for keeping Home Heating Oil Safe.

• Screen your tank with Fencing or Hedges.
• Close and Secure any perimeter gating
• Conceal/Cover any external oil pipe work/fuel lines
• Install Dusk to Dawn security lighting
• Install lockable caps supported by closed shackle padlocks (consult tank supplier)

• Consider installing a tank alarm/security device (consult your tank supplier)
• Join a NHW scheme & keep an eye out—telephone immediately if you see anything-suspicious 999- Note vehicle Index Numbers and descriptions of suspicious persons.
